Tempus joins Techstars as part of their Energy Accelerator in Partnership with Equinor

We are very excited to announce that Tempus has been chosen to participate in this year's Techstars Energy Accelerator in Partnership with Equinor. We will be relocating part of our team to Oslo next month where we’ll be working in Equinor’s head office with access to their invaluable mentorship program and years of experience fast tracking companies to global success.

With a spotlight on climate change and an ever decreasing countdown to the point of no return, now is the time to ask - can the energy industry do more?

Tempus is joining Techstars so that together we can speed up the change and succeed in creating a better energy industry for customers and our planet.

Tempus may be small right now, but we have held strongly to our mission of revolutionising the energy industry since 2012 - our proven cloud based technology supports the build out of renewable energy and means an end to fossil fuels. We champion that by simply changing the time you use energy you can play a big part in creating a 100% renewable future. Tempus has the technology to do this automatically and at scale.

It has been challenging to find forward thinking energy retailers with our vision for this simple change - a change that promises to disrupt the one way value chain business model and allows consumers to become active participants in the energy industry.

A core element of Equinor’s business strategy is to embrace the energy transition - this is why we believe they will be a tremendous ally for us in delivering our technology and ensuring we promote flexibility as a digital solution to a clean energy grid.

Norway itself is also championing a clean energy future - which is encouraging considering that it owes it’s prosperity to oil and gas. Proof of this genuine transition was demonstrated earlier this year when the Norwegian parliament voted not to allow drilling in Lofoten, an area of natural beauty.

Sara Bell, CEO of Tempus said -

“For a government to vote to keep the fossil fuel resources in the ground is a major step in the process of global decarbonisation. As a state owned fossil fuel company Equinor is much more genuinely focused on the energy transition and I think they could be a tremendous partner for us.”

After our success in Australia - where we saw over 20% carbon savings - Tempus is now poised to rapidly scale our transformative technology and demonstrate the value demand flexibility brings in the decarbonisation efforts of large businesses.

Techstars is a wonderful opportunity to help us champion our technology to a global audience and together we can shape a better energy industry for everyone.
